Mesing, recognized for a tie with Ed Dougherty and Roy Vucinich, had the least putts (avg. 27) after the 1st two rounds of play in the U.S. SENIOR OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP in 1999.   Seven previous champions were among the 156 players representing 37 states and 9 countries.
